Workshop Manager – Aftersales Operations

About the role

The Workshop Manager will lead the Aftersales workshop at Al Futtaim Automotive – BYD, ensuring service excellence, technical quality and profitability across all repair and maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily workshop operations to achieve labour sales, productivity, efficiency and utilisation targets aligned with brand KPIs.
• Manage workload distribution, bay allocation, technician capacity and job progression to maximise throughput and minimise vehicle turnaround time.
• Drive Fix‑Right‑First‑Time performance and reduce repeat repairs through strong technical governance.
• Ensure compliance with OEM repair standards, service bulletins, diagnostic procedures and workshop processes.
• Monitor work‑in‑progress and control ageing repair orders to secure timely revenue realization.
• Deliver workshop revenue, labour sales and gross profit targets across mechanical, electrical, body & paint, and accessory operations.
• Control operational costs, including consumables, overtime, sublet expenses and warranty rework within approved budgets.
• Champion customer satisfaction (CSI/NPS) by ensuring on‑time delivery, quality repairs and transparent communication.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of supervisors, foremen, team leaders, technicians and apprentices.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing automotive workshop or service‑centre operations.
• Strong leadership and people‑development capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to drive productivity, cost efficiency and revenue growth.
• Focus on customer satisfaction and quality service delivery.
• Knowledge of warranty governance and after‑sales commercial performance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OEM repair standards and diagnostic procedures.
• Familiarity with service bulletins and warranty governance.
