Country Holding Officer – Saudi Arabia

About the role

ABB is seeking a senior leader to ensure the company operates in line with fiduciary standards and local regulations across Saudi Arabia. Based in Riyadh, the Country Holding Officer will act as the primary liaison with local governance bodies and drive finance front‑office activities while fostering an agile business platform for the divisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with all local fiduciary finance requirements, including US GAAP, statutory reporting, internal controls, tax and HSE obligations.
• Serve as authorized signatory for statutory, tax, treasury and regulatory matters and represent ABB in government and industry associations.
• Lead simplification initiatives to reduce process complexity and eliminate non‑value‑added activities across fiduciary functions.
• Oversee real‑estate governance, support M&A, restructuring and carve‑out projects, and coordinate with global business units.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, communicate findings and ensure timely remediation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• 10+ years of senior supervisory experience in a multicultural, GCC‑focused environment.
• Proven ability to streamline operations, work with tax authorities, government institutions and auditors.
• Deep knowledge of Saudi regulations, culture and business practices; Arabic proficiency highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and accountability with a track record of building collaborative cultures.
