Data Scientist – Football Analytics

About the role

Al-Qadsiah Club is seeking a Data Scientist to join its Data, Technology, and Innovation team. You will drive football analytics, providing data‑driven insights that support coaches, analysts, scouts, and performance staff, and help shape the club’s legacy in Saudi sports.

Key responsibilities

• Extract, transform, and load event, tracking, and performance data while ensuring data quality.
• Manage data integration, storage, and the internal GCP data warehouse, creating automated pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Develop and maintain the club’s analytics platform and dashboards, adding new data sources and visualisations for end‑users.
• Build predictive models and apply machine‑learning and deep‑learning techniques to support tactical and strategic decisions.
• Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, etc.).
• Master’s degree or equivalent practical experience; PhD is a plus.
• Proven experience in data analysis, preferably within football or sports contexts.
• Familiarity with football data sources such as event, tracking, or performance data.
