Operation & Maintenance Expert

About the role

The Operation & Maintenance Expert will provide technical leadership and operational support across Applus' field activities in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on asset evaluation, risk management, performance optimisation and compliance with quality and maintenance standards within the road sector.

Key responsibilities

• Track low performance indicators and assess KPI measurements.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, technical specifications and maintenance standards.
• Review, validate and approve reports, measurements and payment‑related documentation.
• Monitor contractor performance indicators and evaluate performance related to rates.
• Deliver training programmes and conduct workshops to improve internal stakeholder performance.
• Coordinate operations across regions, sites and stakeholders to ensure continuity and efficiency.
• Support communication among regional teams and follow up with Resident Engineers.
• Identify operational and technical risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Document lessons learned and best practices, and support corrective actions.
• Assist with audits, inspections and quality reviews related to operation and maintenance activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and handle escalation requests with the Project Management Engineer.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience after PhD, or 5 years after Master, or 15 years after Bachelor, all within the road sector.
• Strong background in operation and maintenance of road infrastructure.
• Proven ability to work with internal stakeholders, contractors and regional teams.
• Experience in risk identification, mitigation and performance monitoring.
