A/C Technician

About the role

The A/C Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration and ventilation systems throughout the hotel, ensuring guest comfort, safety and energy efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation and chilled water systems according to schedule.
• Diagnose and repair faults in air‑conditioning units, fan coil units, air handling units, split systems, pumps and associated controls.
• Respond promptly to guest room and public‑area air‑conditioning requests and complaints.
• Monitor and operate chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers and mechanical ventilation equipment.
• Support energy‑conservation initiatives and recommend system upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and refrigerant‑handling regulations.
• Complete work orders and maintain accurate maintenance logs in the hotel’s management system.
• Coordinate with engineering colleagues and other hotel departments during maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certification in HVAC, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering or a related trade.
• Valid HVAC or refrigeration certification/license where required by local regulations.
• Minimum 3 years of HVAC maintenance experience, preferably in a luxury hotel, resort, hospital or large commercial facility.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) is an advantage.
