Android Engineer (Saudi Based)

About the role

Hudhud Maps is looking for a passionate Android Engineer to join its fast‑growing startup team in Riyadh. You will work with the latest Kotlin‑based codebase and collaborate closely with backend and design teams to deliver high‑quality mobile experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance Android applications.
• Collaborate with backend and UI/UX teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Conduct code reviews, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement optimisations.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in existing code.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing and deploying Android applications.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, eagerness to learn new technologies, and good communication skills.

Required skills

• Kotlin and modern Android frameworks (including async/await or coroutines).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth2.
• Solid understanding of Android design principles and Human Interface Guidelines.
• Unit and UI testing using frameworks like Mockito.
• Hands‑on experience with map SDKs (MapLibre, Google Maps, Apple Maps, ESRI, etc.).
