Appointed Person – Night Shift (Construction Lifting)

About the role

The client, a leading international contractor, is seeking an experienced Appointed Person to join the night‑shift team on a major building project in Riyadh. The role involves overseeing all lifting operations, ensuring they are planned, supervised and executed safely in line with the Project Lifting Management Plan.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and approve lift plans, method statements and risk assessments for all crane and lifting activities.
• Coordinate with the Managing Contractor and subcontractors to ensure compliance with BS 7121 Safe Use of Cranes.
• Supervise on‑site lifting operations, verify load charts, ground conditions and crane selection.
• Monitor the use of lifting accessories and emergency arrangements throughout the shift.
• Maintain accurate documentation and provide assurance that all lifting work meets safety standards.

Required profile

• Valid Appointed Person training or certification aligned with BS 7121.
• Experience in planning and managing lifting operations on construction sites.
• Ability to work night shifts and communicate effectively with site teams.
