Associate Director – Financial Crime Advisory

About the role

Protiviti is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead and grow its Financial Crime Consulting practice across Saudi Arabia and the GCC. The role combines business development, project delivery and team leadership to help banks and financial institutions meet regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end business development for financial crime consulting across KSA and GCC, building relationships with C‑suite, CCO, CMLCO and senior compliance officers in banks and payment firms.
• Lead delivery of multi‑workstream advisory engagements, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget and high‑quality outcomes across gap assessments, AML/CFT programme design, sanctions and transaction‑monitoring model validation, KYC/CDD/EDD remediation and financial‑crime risk assessments.
• Recruit, develop and manage a high‑performing advisory team in KSA, fostering an inclusive culture and meeting annual revenue targets of USD 1 million +.

Required profile

• 15+ years of professional experience, including 10+ years in financial crime advisory and 5+ years of selling FCC projects to banks.
• Proven track record of generating USD 1 million + annual revenue from managed client accounts.
• Strong commercial acumen, relationship‑building skills and ability to mentor junior staff.

Required skills

• Gap assessments against SAMA, CBUAE, FATF and internal standards.
• Sanctions and transaction‑monitoring model validation and system tuning/optimisation.
• KYC/CDD/EDD remediation frameworks and look‑back programmes.
• Financial‑crime risk assessment methodology.
• Hands‑on experience with Fircosoft/Accuity, SAS AML, NICE Actimize, Oracle FCCM and related technology platforms.
• Python for data‑science analytics applied to financial‑crime monitoring.
