Barista (Saudi Only)

About the role

The St. Regis hotel in Riyadh is hiring a barista, open only to Saudi nationals. The role covers preparing and serving coffee and bottled beverages, maintaining the bar and its equipment, handling payments and completing closing duties.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare drink orders and a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, according to standard recipes.
• Operate, calibrate and clean commercial espresso machines, grinders and coffee brewing equipment.
• Recommend coffee beans, roasts and brewing techniques to guests.
• Issue, open and serve bottled beverages, prepare fresh garnishes and stock ice, glassware and paper supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar, bar unit, tables and tools, wash soiled glassware and move soiled items to the designated area.
• Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs, process all payment methods and count the bank at the end of the shift, resolving discrepancies and securing the bank.
• Complete closing duties, follow safety and security policies, and ensure a clean, professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, read small print and perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and reaching overhead.
