Biomedical Engineer – Medical Equipment Maintenance

About the role

Magrabi Health seeks a qualified Saudi Biomedical Engineer to independently manage repairs and preventive maintenance of a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment. The role supports clinical staff, ensures equipment reliability, and contributes to patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory of medical equipment and surgical instruments.
• Perform repairs, testing, and calibrations on diagnostic and therapeutic devices, documenting all actions.
• Plan and execute yearly inspection, testing, and maintenance activities.
• Provide preventive maintenance following manufacturers' manuals.
• Monitor radiation and laser safety, applying relevant policies.
• Submit monthly performance indicators to the Biomedical Engineering Manager.
• Act as a preceptor for physicians, nurses, and technical staff during procedures.
• Participate in the facility’s education program and support continuous learning.
• Identify aging or obsolete equipment and assist in justification for new acquisitions.
• Interact with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure service quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to professional standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• High attention to detail.
