BO Transmission Engineer

About the role

Ericsson is seeking a BO Transmission Engineer to support the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of its transmission and IP network infrastructure. The role provides second‑line technical support, ensuring network performance and service availability across a range of transmission technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end‑to‑end second‑line troubleshooting on IP and transmission networks, including routers, switches, MPLS environments and transmission nodes.
• Manage incidents, problems and configuration activities to maintain network stability.
• Support investigations of transmission‑related outages and service degradations.
• Configure, install, maintain and upgrade network devices and services.
• Conduct node acceptance, audits and network health assessments.
• Collaborate with field, access, operations and third‑party teams to resolve complex issues.
• Review and verify transmission‑related network changes and support design implementation.
• Escalate to third‑line support when required and participate in technical investigations and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Work in a 24/5 shift environment and provide on‑call support during weekends as needed.

Required profile

• 1‑4 years of experience in transmission network operations, support or troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, shift rotations and on‑call support.

Required skills

• IP networking concepts and protocols.
• Cisco routers and switches.
• MPLS environments.
• Ericsson transmission solutions (Mini‑Link TN, Mini‑Link 6600, Mini‑Link 6352, R6000, SIU/TCU).
• Network management and monitoring tools.
• Basic scripting or automation knowledge.
• Cisco and/or Ericsson networking certifications (preferred).
