About the role
The Board Member will act as a senior strategic leader, guiding governance, fiscal oversight, and risk management to advance the organization’s mission and long‑term goals. This position works closely with executive leadership and diverse stakeholders to ensure ethical, transparent, and effective decision‑making.
Key responsibilities
- Shape and approve the organization’s strategic vision and long‑term objectives.
- Oversee financial stewardship, including budget review, financial reporting, and audit approvals.
- Set and monitor governance policies that promote transparency, accountability, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to evaluate operational performance and align actions with the mission.
- Engage with community leaders, staff, and external partners to foster stakeholder relationships and drive strategic initiatives.
Required profile
- Minimum 15 years of executive experience with progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Proven experience serving on a board of directors or similar governing body.
- Strong background in risk management, regulatory compliance, and financial oversight.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for stakeholder engagement.
- Track record of developing and implementing measurable strategic initiatives.
- Commitment to ethical standards and inclusive organizational culture.
- Experience in non‑profit or community‑based governance is preferred.
