Cancer Care Nurse Level 3

About the role

The Cancer Care Nurse 3 provides advanced-level nursing care on the assigned nursing unit and supports operational processes such as maintaining high standards of patient care, helping resolve complex clinical issues, mentoring intermediate-level nurses and working closely with the multidisciplinary team. The nurse reports to a Team Lead or Nurse Unit Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care focused on complex cases, using the nursing process from admission through discharge and documenting care according to the patient's age.
• Manage patients with invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring, coordinating treatment and care.
• Mentor junior nurses, precept new hires and trainees during their probation, and recommend progress and training needs.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and lifesaving situations using clinical skills, critical thinking and evidence-based practice.
• Perform a wide range of nursing procedures accurately and safely, and educate patients and families in line with the plan of care.
• Adhere to clinical protocols, evaluate patient outcomes and achieve or maintain the mandated set of activities for Level 3 (at least 20 points across four categories every 12 months under the Clinical Advancement Program).
• Contribute to strategic initiatives, help develop protocols and processes for patient safety and efficiency, and support the nursing Professional Practice Model.

Required profile

• International Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (3 years).
• Current registration as a professional registered nurse.
• Minimum 4 years of nursing experience, including 2 years in cancer care or a related field.
• Basic Life Support (BLS); ONS chemotherapy and immunotherapy certification online (mandatory for chemotherapy and immunotherapy competency).
• ELNEC end-of-life care training to be completed within one year of hiring.
• English fully proficient; Arabic preferred.
