Operating Room Nurse Level 3 - Al-Hasa

About the role

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (Level 3) works in the Dhahran Operating Room at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) and provides complex, direct, quality and evidence-based nursing care to patients, guided by organizational and departmental policies. Work is performed on any shift as required, and hours may include on-call and scheduled overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care for complex cases and manage workflow, mentoring junior nurses
• Act as scrub or circulating nurse, set up the OR according to the procedure and AORN recommendations, and assist the surgeon
• Complete pre-, intra- and post-operative documentation accurately and on time
• Maintain aseptic practice and a safe, clean environment
• In the PACU, monitor patients to ASPAN and JHAH standards, complete documentation and administer IV medications and PCA as ordered
• Evaluate supplies and equipment, and support the empowerment of nurses through the JHAH Professional Practice Model
• Precept new hires and trainees, respond to emergencies, and represent the unit on committees and task forces

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including 4 years as an operating room nurse
• International diploma or bachelor's degree in nursing (3 years)
• Current professional registered nurse licensure
• English fully proficient; Arabic preferred

Required skills

• BLS certification
• ACLS certification where applicable to the assigned area
• PALS certification where applicable to the assigned area
