Chief Accountant

About the role

ABIS is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to lead its accounting team in Al Jubail. The role oversees all accounting operations, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and provides accurate financial reporting to support strategic decisions. It calls for strong leadership, analytical ability and expertise in accounting standards and financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the accounting team so that financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports and budgets in line with IFRS and company policies.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing and ensure its accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management.
• Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Mentor and train accounting staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA, ACCA or CMA certification highly preferred.
• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and leadership skills, attention to detail and integrity.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with effective communication skills.
