CIM Data Modelling & Data Integration Expert – Electric Utility

About the role

Elia Grid International is looking for a highly skilled CIM Data Modelling & Data Integration Expert to support electric utility digital transformation. The role focuses on designing, maintaining and extending CIM‑based data models and integration frameworks across enterprise systems such as GIS, EAM, APM, ADMS and SCADA.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CIM‑based data models for transmission, distribution and generation assets using IEC 61970, IEC 61968 and IEC 62325 standards.
• Lead data integration initiatives between GIS, EAM (Maximo/SAP), APM platforms, ADMS, SCADA and data lakes using semantic and canonical models.
• Design semantic mappings, data dictionaries, mapping specifications and data lineage documentation.
• Support ETL/ELT processes, APIs and real‑time data exchange for structured and unstructured asset data.
• Advise on data governance, data quality and master data management to ensure asset data integrity.
• Facilitate workshops with business and IT stakeholders to define requirements and align CIM model extensions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 5+ years experience in the electric utility sector, with at least 3 years working with CIM standards and data modelling.
• Proven experience with asset management systems such as IBM Maximo or SAP EAM.
• Hands‑on experience integrating GIS (ESRI, Smallworld), APM platforms (IBM, GE, ABB), ADMS, SCADA and data warehouses.
• Strong understanding of power system models, network topology and asset hierarchies.
• Familiarity with integration frameworks (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Azure Integration Services) and data governance practices.
