Civil Deputy Superintendent

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, energy transition and industrial sectors, is hiring a Civil Deputy Superintendent in Al Jubail. The role oversees day-to-day civil construction operations on a site, leads field personnel and subcontractors, and manages the construction budget and schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and lead field personnel, ensure adherence to safety standards, project specifications and schedules, and resolve project issues.
• Establish and analyze civil construction processes, eliminate risks early, and manage the construction execution budget and schedule.
• Coordinate with the client, subcontractors and other departments, attend meetings and give regular progress reports.
• Organize the construction organization for the discipline, liaise with clients and contractors, and manage daily site activities, resources, equipment and materials.
• Provide leadership to field personnel and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality standards and safety regulations.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and adjust them to meet deadlines.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as daily reports, change orders and cost records, and manage subcontractor payments.
• Review subcontract agreements, manage claims, train juniors and build team capacity.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in construction projects, from start to completion.
• Knowledge of project specifications and standards, and experience on small to medium projects.
• Experience as a superintendent in oil/gas/petrochemical or power plant projects, and in an engineering and construction company.

Required skills

• Civil engineering principles and techniques: survey, soil improvement (DC, SC, piles), foundation work (plant mat, isolated, table top, ring wall), underground works (cable trench, duct bank, manhole), pits and basins, precast concrete, dewatering and shoring.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications and measurement definitions.
• Budget management, subcontractor management and construction scheduling.
• Quality control inspections and knowledge of safety regulations.
• Proficiency in civil engineering and construction project management software.
