Civil Surveyor

About the role

The Civil Surveyor performs land and construction surveys to establish and verify site levels, alignments and dimensions, supporting accurate setting-out and progress verification for civil and construction works. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Perform site surveys for setting out civil works such as excavation, foundations, structures, pipelines and roads.
• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks and reference grids.
• Verify as-built dimensions, levels and alignments against approved drawings.
• Operate survey equipment (total station, GPS/GNSS, levels) and keep calibration records.
• Prepare survey reports, as-built drawings and quantity survey data.
• Support quality control with dimensional verification for civil, structural and piping works.
• Coordinate with construction supervision on setting-out requirements and schedules.
• Maintain survey records, field books and data files, and support topographic and boundary surveys.
• Report survey discrepancies to the Superintendent/Engineering team and support progress measurement through survey-based quantity verification.

Required profile

• 5 to 8 years of experience as a surveyor on construction or industrial projects.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Core competencies: attention to detail, analytical thinking, accountability, communication skills and precision.

Required skills

• Land and construction surveying techniques.
• Total station, GPS/GNSS and levelling equipment operation.
• AutoCAD and survey software such as Civil 3D.
• Reading civil and construction drawings and producing as-built documentation.
