Commis I – Food & Beverage (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis I to join our food and beverage team at a leading hotel in Jeddah. The role involves preparing a variety of hot and cold dishes, maintaining high standards of food quality, and supporting the kitchen staff during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals and substitute items according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and manage food thawing and storage.
• Maintain food logs, ensure proper portioning, garnish, and monitor food quality and quantity.
• Communicate with chefs and service staff about menu specials, excess items, and out‑of‑stock items.
• Assist in hiring, training, scheduling and coaching kitchen employees as needed.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, report maintenance issues and maintain a clean, professional appearance.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree related to culinary arts.
• Minimum three years of experience in a similar kitchen or food‑service role.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, broilers, grills and roasters.
• Food preparation and cooking according to standardized recipes.
• Basic food safety and hygiene practices.
