Commvault Senior Engineer

About the role

The Commvault Senior Engineer will lead the design, implementation, administration and optimisation of our enterprise data‑protection environment. You will be the primary technical contact for all Commvault‑related operations, ensuring stability, performance and compliance with best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage backup and recovery processes for critical data, including configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting of jobs.
• Perform health checks, performance tuning and capacity planning for the Commvault infrastructure.
• Administer storage policies, retention rules, media management and offline backup policies.
• Configure and maintain HyperMetro and HyperReplication for disaster recovery, and manage tape library hardware and software.
• Install, configure and upgrade Commvault components, applying patches and version upgrades.
• Develop and execute disaster‑recovery procedures, conduct restore testing and ensure RPO/RTO objectives are met.
• Create regular backup and capacity reports, document configurations and recommend improvements.
• Integrate Commvault with VMware, Nutanix, physical/virtual servers, databases and storage platforms.
• Handle incidents within SLA, participate in change management and coordinate with vendor support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• 6–8 years of experience with enterprise backup solutions.
• Strong hands‑on experience administering Commvault.
• Experience with VMware, Nutanix, SAN/NAS storage and Windows/Linux environments.
• Knowledge of database backup strategies (SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2) and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Relevant certification such as Commvault Certified Engineer (CCE) is preferred.
