Computing Instructor – IT, CS & Software Engineering

About the role

The Computing Instructor will deliver introductory courses that introduce students to the core concepts of Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Computer Science. The role helps learners understand the distinctions between these pathways, explore real‑world applications, and make informed decisions about their major selection.

Key responsibilities

• Teach foundational computing courses such as Foundations of Computing, Introduction to ICT Disciplines, Computing Thinking & Problem Solving, and Computing Careers & Pathways.
• Explain the differences between IT (systems management), Software Engineering (software design and development), and Computer Science (theoretical foundations).
• Use case studies, industry examples, hands‑on labs, and projects to contextualize learning.
• Guide students on career pathways, emerging technologies, and industry roles.
• Participate in curriculum development and continuous program improvement.
• Provide academic advising, major‑selection guidance, and pastoral support.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative methods and give constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with faculty across IT, Software Engineering, and Computer Science programs.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach introductory computing concepts to diverse student audiences.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
