Data and ML Platform Engineer

About the role

The Data and ML Platform Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support reliable, high‑quality data across port operations. This role is essential for integrating systems such as Navis N4, IoT platforms, and enterprise applications to enable analytics, reporting, and AI‑driven decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from operational systems, equipment, and enterprise platforms.
• Build and maintain scalable data models, data warehouse/lake architectures, and ensure optimal query performance.
• Implement data quality, validation, and governance processes, including metadata and lineage documentation.
• Prepare clean datasets for Power BI dashboards and support data science model development.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce latency and improve pipeline efficiency.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience in data engineering or backend data systems.
• Experience with operational or industrial datasets is preferred.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Required skills

• Strong SQL and data modelling expertise.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering.
• Experience with APIs and large datasets.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud services.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Ability to work onsite in a terminal environment (indoor and outdoor).
