Director of Security and Safety

About the role

Four Seasons Hotel Madinah, a new-build luxury hotel located steps from the Prophet's Mosque, is seeking an experienced Director of Security and Safety. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will lead all security, safety and risk management operations, ensuring a safe environment for guests, employees, contractors and hotel assets while maintaining the highest standards of service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all security and safety operations, and develop and improve security, occupational health and safety policies and risk management strategies.
• Oversee fire and life safety programs, including fire prevention, evacuation procedures, fire drills and coordination with Engineering and authorities.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, security audits, hazard assessments and risk evaluations across guest areas, kitchens, restaurants and back-of-house facilities.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian health and safety regulations, Civil Defense requirements, Four Seasons standards and international safety standards.
• Lead emergency preparedness and crisis management, and investigate accidents, injuries, security incidents and near misses, driving corrective and preventive actions.
• Train and develop the Security and Safety team, and collaborate with Culinary, F&B, Engineering, Housekeeping, People & Culture and other departments.
• Oversee CCTV, access control and security equipment, and run safety awareness and training programs.
• Manage contractor and vendor compliance, build relationships with local authorities and emergency services, and monitor safety performance indicators.
• Manage departmental budget, staffing, equipment and resources, and support pre-opening activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Criminal Justice, Risk Management or a related field.
• Proven experience in security and safety management, preferably in a luxury hotel, resort or large hospitality setting, with prior senior leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of security operations, OHS, fire and life safety, emergency preparedness and risk management.
• Familiarity with international safety standards and Saudi regulations and Civil Defense requirements; IOSH or equivalent certification highly preferred.
• Proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Experience with safety inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective action plans.
• Familiarity with CCTV, access control systems, fire protection systems and incident reporting software.
• Leadership, decision-making, stakeholder management and communication skills.
