EHS Specialist III – Health & Safety

About the role

The Specialist, EHS III supports safe and compliant operations across aluminium facilities by implementing, monitoring and improving health and safety programmes. The role ensures alignment with the company’s MSHEM system, Saudi regulations and international best practices, focusing on risk management, compliance assurance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and maintain compliance with MSHEM procedures, support audits and drive closure of non‑conformances.
• Conduct structured risk assessments, apply the hierarchy of controls and verify operational documentation.
• Perform field inspections to confirm that controls are practical and consistently applied.
• Report, record and investigate incidents, near‑misses and high‑potential events, facilitating root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Provide routine compliance updates to line management, interpret audit results and recommend HS improvements.
• Monitor contractor health‑ and‑safety compliance, including documentation, inductions and work‑execution controls.
• Support periodic programme reviews and continuous‑improvement initiatives to raise overall HS performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, engineering or a related discipline.
• 5‑7 years of health & safety experience in heavy industry; aluminium production or mining preferred.
• Preferred certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of ISO 45001 requirements and application.

• Familiarity with the MSHEM framework and permit‑to‑work practices.
• Contractor safety management and audit/assurance processes.
• Ability to track actions and manage compliance evidence.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, NEBOSH and IOSH standards.
