Finance Consultant / Senior Consultant – Internal Audit

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Consultant or Senior Consultant to provide independent assurance and advisory services across financing operations, credit, collections, financial reporting, governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance in line with Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) regulations and International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute risk‑based internal audits covering credit origination, underwriting, disbursement, collections, recovery, and product lines such as auto, personal, real‑estate finance, leasing, BNPL, and SME finance.
• Develop and test Risk & Control Matrices (RCMs) and assess control design and operating effectiveness.
• Prepare draft and final audit reports with observations, root‑cause analysis, risk ratings, and actionable recommendations.
• Review internal controls over IFRS 9 (ECL models), IFRS 16 (leases), and revenue recognition, and evaluate provisioning adequacy and NPL classification.
• Assess compliance with SAMA prudential limits, responsible‑lending rules, debt‑collection regulations, and AML/CFT requirements.
• Evaluate governance structures, Board and Committee effectiveness, and alignment of policies with COSO ERM.
• Liaise with senior management, Audit Committee, Risk & Compliance teams, and external auditors; present findings and risk themes to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 5–12 years of relevant experience in finance‑company, consumer‑finance, or banking audits (KSA preferred).
• Professional certifications such as CIA (highly preferred); CPA, CA, ACCA, or CRMA are a plus.
• Strong analytical, report‑writing, and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Credit lifecycle knowledge – origination, underwriting, disbursement, collections.
• Understanding of consumer and SME finance, leasing, and BNPL products.
• Expertise in IFRS 9 ECL modelling, staging, provisioning and IFRS 16 lease accounting.
• Familiarity with SAMA Finance Companies regulatory framework.
• Hands‑on experience with Risk & Control Matrices (RCMs) and audit methodologies.
