Fire Safety Engineering Lead

About the role

The Fire Safety Engineering Lead will serve as the technical authority for fire and life safety engineering at KAUST. This senior position provides strategic direction, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives continuous improvement across all fire safety initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of fire and life safety engineering projects, including new construction, renovations, and high‑hazard environments.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Fire Safety Engineers.
• Conduct design reviews, compliance validation, and fire risk assessments in line with KAUST procedures and delegated authorities.
• Apply and interpret Saudi Building Code (SBC), NFPA standards, and International Fire Code (IFC) to all projects.
• Oversee inspections, field assessments, system verifications, and incident investigations.
• Provide technical assurance for inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) of fire protection systems.
• Develop and deliver fire safety training for engineering, operations, and emergency response personnel.
• Maintain fire engineering standards, technical procedures, and audit‑ready records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 + years of professional experience in fire protection engineering or a closely related field.
• Proven experience leading design reviews, compliance validation, and fire risk assessments.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and manage technical engineering teams.
