Freelance Arabic Translator (Marketing & IT)

About the role

LocalEyes, a localization services provider for the computer and software sectors, is recruiting freelance Arabic translators to join its community of freelancers. You will work on marketing and IT translations, linguistic review and QA, and check terminology consistency using TMs, glossaries and style guides. The project is ongoing, remote, and starts after about one week's advance notice.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and localize marketing and IT content
• Review texts linguistically and perform quality assurance
• Maintain terminology consistency through TMs, glossaries and style guides

Required profile

• Native Arabic speaker with a degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation or equivalent experience
• Experience as a translator specializing in marketing and IT preferred
• Excellent written and spoken English, and familiarity with US American culture and pop culture
• Attention to detail, quality-driven, and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
• Willingness to travel when the business calls and good availability, potentially 4-6 hours per day

Required skills

• Knowledge of SDL Studio and other CAT tools
• Editorial and journalistic skills, up to date with language and terminology trends
