Freight Forwarding Import Operations Officer / Senior Officer

About the role

A full-time Freight Forwarding Officer / Senior Officer position based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, within the Freight Forwarding / Logistics department and reporting to the Freight Forwarding Assistant Manager. The role monitors and manages shipper performance for inbound shipments from India, Korea and China until delivery to door, ensuring timely updates, accurate documentation and smooth coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Track and evaluate the performance of shippers in India, Korea and China, and ensure shipments are dispatched and delivered on schedule
• Identify delays, bottlenecks and areas for process improvement
• Maintain accurate records of inbound shipments and keep internal teams informed of shipment status
• Coordinate with vendors, operations and management for smooth shipment flow
• Prepare performance reports on shippers for management and maintain shipping documents, invoices and shipment records
• Assist in audits and internal reviews of inbound shipments
• Ensure shipments comply with company SOPs and regulatory requirements, and communicate with stakeholders about issues or delays

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or a related field
• 2-4 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics coordination
• Experience with import shipments and shipper management
• Knowledge of shipping documentation and trade compliance
• Good spoken and written English; Arabic is advantageous but not mandatory

Required skills

• Analytical and tracking skills, including knowledge of Incoterms
• Ocean route analysis and situation assessment
• Excellent coordination and communication, attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple shipments
• Proficiency in MS Excel and freight tracking systems
