Head of Finance and Tax – Riyadh

About the role

The Head of Finance and Tax will lead the finance function for a growing insurance organisation in Riyadh. This senior position is responsible for financial control, regulatory reporting, planning, treasury and full ZATCA tax and zakat compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial control, regulatory financial reporting and performance planning.
• Manage treasury operations and cash flow.
• Ensure full ZATCA compliance, including zakat, corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax and e‑invoicing (FATOORA).
• Develop and lead the finance team, establishing accounting and control frameworks.
• Implement a monthly Group reporting cycle.
• Apply IFRS 17 in an insurance environment and coordinate with the actuarial function.
• Lead statutory audits and prepare insurance financial statements under IFRS.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Chartered Accountant, CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in the Saudi market.
• Experience in the insurance sector is essential.
• Background with a Big 4 audit firm is preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with ZATCA compliance and practical application of IFRS 17.
• Proven ability to manage statutory audits and insurance IFRS reporting.
• Bilingual in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
