Head Pastry Chef - Premium Café Concept

About the role

An international hospitality group is seeking an experienced Head Pastry Chef to lead the pastry and bakery operations of a new premium café concept in Al Khobar. The role shapes the venue's identity through craftsmanship, precision and innovation, overseeing production, leading the team and contributing to menu development, product innovation and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all pastry and bakery production, ensuring consistency, quality and alignment with international luxury standards
• Lead and mentor the pastry team, train and schedule junior chefs, and maintain composure during peak periods
• Contribute to refined pastry and bakery menus and collaborate with senior culinary leadership on tastings, seasonal launches and product innovation
• Manage food cost, portion control and waste reduction; oversee inventory, suppliers and purchasing
• Keep production schedules organised and aligned with daily business needs
• Enforce food safety, hygiene and local regulatory standards and maintain high standards of flavour, texture and presentation

Required profile

• Minimum 5-8 years of professional pastry experience, including at least 2-3 years in a leadership role in a premium patisserie, fine dining restaurant or upscale café
• Proven expertise in high-end pastry, viennoiserie and baked goods, with attention to flavour balance, texture and presentation
• Experience managing production planning in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Ability to stay informed of international pastry trends and apply them to the concept
