Health, Safety and Environment Specialist (Saudi Arabia)

About the role

Eram Talent is looking for a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Specialist to join its team in Saudi Arabia. The specialist ensures the safety and compliance of construction and projects by delivering and implementing risk-based safety programs, giving expert HSE guidance and building a strong safety culture across the project lifecycle. The role advises Project Managers, engineers and clients on HSE matters, including at handover.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Implement and maintain HSE management systems and project safety programs, including risk-based inspections, performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards through regular inspections of equipment, structures and work activities.
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions and write detailed reports.
• Run safety meetings, training sessions and Toolbox Talks.
• Monitor HSE performance metrics (KPIs) and give recommendations to improve safety strategies.
• Carry out audits and risk-based inspections, track corrective actions and verify hazard mitigation.
• Review safety plans, permits to work, lifting plans, MOCs and design documents against HSE requirements.
• Maintain communication with stakeholders so lessons learned are shared and corrective measures implemented.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field.
• At least 8 years' experience in construction safety or HSE roles on large-scale projects.
• Experience with Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Certified ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor (required).
• Preferred: CSP or CHST, NEBOSH certificate or diploma, and First Aid certification.
• Valid driver's license.
