Instrument Technician (Saudi National Only)

About the role

KBR is looking for an Instrument Technician in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia, to keep instrument assets reliable and available so that process units can stay in operation. The role leads, supervises and coordinates the maintenance team for instruments, equipment and facilities, and acts as the focal point for daily maintenance execution. Candidates must be Saudi nationals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and coordinate the maintenance technician team, focusing on compliance with the preventive maintenance plan and efficient breakdown maintenance of instrument systems, equipment and facilities.
• Execute monthly and weekly maintenance plans, control progress and submit regular progress reports to the instrument foreman with recommendations.
• Provide onsite maintenance and repairs on instruments such as generators, transformers and motors, following standards, specifications, safety procedures, manufacturer recommendations and contract terms.
• Follow up on maintenance work progress, keep records of daily work against planned programmes and prepare work completion reports.
• Assist in engineering modifications and enhancements to instrument equipment by recommending improvements to suitability and serviceability.
• Conduct frequent site visits to check that work is properly executed and that technicians engaged in routine maintenance are active.

Required profile

• Saudi national (mandatory).
• Minimum 7 years' experience in oil and gas maintenance with a diploma.
• Proven leadership skills in large organisations, maturity of judgment under pressure and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and to travel internationally and live in KSA.
• Good command of oral and written English.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of maintaining and repairing instrument systems, and of instrument equipment design, installation and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards and regulations.
• Technical understanding of oil and gas facility maintenance management.
