International Patient Engagement Intern (12‑month)

About the role

Join the International Patient Engagement (IPE) team at Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Riyadh for a 12‑month internship. You will help incorporate the patient perspective into the development of innovative medicines by supporting education material creation, patient insight collection, and project coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Support development, localisation and review of Arabic patient education materials and maintain content libraries in collaboration with Vertex International headquarters.
• Participate in meetings with patient organisations and advocacy groups, collect and analyse patient insights, and research best practices in health literacy.
• Conduct research on disease awareness and patient education needs for nephropathy and diabetes in Saudi Arabia, map relevant patient associations and prepare briefing materials.
• Assist with project‑management activities such as tracking timelines, maintaining project plans, preparing presentations and ensuring version control of educational resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, pharmaceutical sciences or a related healthcare discipline.
• Strong interest in patient education, advocacy or public health within the biotech/pharma sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work independently as well as within a cross‑functional team.
