IT Support Specialist

About the role

The IT Support Specialist provides day‑to‑day technical assistance for all hardware, software, network and classroom technology used by staff and students. Working under the IT Supervisor, the role ensures minimal downtime and a high level of service across the school’s digital infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to help‑desk tickets, emails and walk‑ins, troubleshooting laptops, Chromebooks, desktops, printers, scanners, projectors and interactive boards.
• Configure, image and maintain Windows and ChromeOS devices, keep asset records up to date and monitor device health.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting on switches, firewalls and access points, and report major outages.
• Create and manage user accounts in Google Workspace and school systems, assign permissions and support email configuration.
• Support classroom AV equipment, install educational software and assist teachers during lessons.
• Install printer drivers, resolve printing issues and coordinate with vendors for repairs.
• Carry out routine hardware cleaning, cable management and keep IT rooms organized.
• Document incidents, update logs, prepare checklists and provide on‑site support for school events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 2–3 years of hands‑on IT support experience, preferably in an educational setting.

Required skills

• Strong troubleshooting of Windows, macOS and ChromeOS devices.
• Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and user account management.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, firewalls, access points).
• Familiarity with IT asset management and ticketing systems.
• Ability to support printers, projectors, interactive boards and other AV equipment.
