Junior Financial & IBA Accounts

About the role

The Junior Financial & IBA Accounts professional will support reinsurance and financial accounting functions, handling day‑to‑day bookkeeping, reconciliations and reporting while collaborating closely with underwriting and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain books of accounts, record transactions, manage billing, collections and cash allocations.
• Prepare accounting vouchers such as receipts, payments, petty cash and journal entries.
• Assist the Finance Manager with month‑end close, financial statements, cash‑flow management and management reporting.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and ensuring control compliance.
• Work with underwriters to review complex reinsurance transactions from an accounting perspective.
• Review and adjust reinsurance technical accounts, including commissions, profit commissions and premium adjustments.
• Record and monitor collections and payments related to reinsurance technical accounts.
• Accurately post reinsurance payables and receivables to the general ledger.
• Reconcile reinsurance payable and recoverable accounts and follow up on outstanding balances with ceding companies.
• Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure policies are correctly accounted for each month.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent insurance industry experience.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an insurance company, reinsurance broker or reinsurance firm.
• Proficiency with digital office tools, especially the MS Office Suite.
• Ability to read and understand insurance and reinsurance policies and contracts.
• Strong communication skills and high attention to detail.
