Lab Supervisor

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Lab Supervisor to lead the laboratory operations supporting its food production lines in Jeddah. You will ensure that all testing, sampling, and quality activities comply with international food‑safety standards and internal procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Report quality issues, trigger corrective actions and follow up on preventive measures.
• Coordinate with Production on product release, rework, rejection or disposal based on laboratory results.
• Stop production when products or processes do not meet approved quality standards.
• Investigate, document and close non‑conformities, deviations, audit findings and customer complaints.
• Maintain laboratory compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP and related food‑safety requirements.
• Reject non‑conforming raw materials, keep records and coordinate supplier claims.
• Manage ordering, receipt and verification of laboratory equipment, chemicals, consumables and water tankers.
• Coordinate product sampling, reference sample registration and dispatch.
• Organise and participate in sensory and taste‑testing activities.
• Ensure equipment calibration and maintain calibration records.
• Oversee pest‑control activities and cleaning of water‑storage tanks.
• Participate in production, quality and daily operational meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Chemical Engineering or Food Sciences.
• Minimum 5 years of full‑time laboratory supervision experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in the FMCG industry.
• Relevant certifications: ISO 17025, ISO 22000, HACCP.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 and ISO 22000 standards.
• Expertise in FSSC, HACCP and GMP food‑safety standards.
• QA & QC planning and execution.
• Quality internal audit competence.
• Proficiency with MS Excel.
