Lead Flow Assurance Engineer

About the role

KBR is looking for a Lead Flow Assurance Engineer with proven experience designing pipelines, utilities and offsite piping systems from concept through detailed design of medium to large projects. The role requires thorough knowledge of flow assurance engineering practices, economics, calculation methods, international standards, codes and specifications, and excellent communication skills.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve process deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, design basis, process narratives, process calculations and equipment specification documents.
• Perform steady-state and transient hydraulic analyses and surge analysis on liquid lines using simulation tools such as SPS.
• Design surge protection systems and simulate gas networks.
• Demonstrate experience in single- and multiphase pipeline hydraulic simulation.
• Provide technical leadership so that client, KBR and international procedures and standards are correctly applied.
• Work independently and create a positive work environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering; Engineering Degree Qualification or equivalent from a government-recognized institution.
• Minimum 15 years' experience in oil and gas, hydrocarbons and/or infrastructure, including 15 years in process and flow assurance.
• Experience as a pipeline simulation engineer and in pipeline flow assurance and hydraulic calculations.
• Proficiency in English, oral and written, and excellent technical presentation skills.
• GCC experience, particularly Saudi Aramco, is preferred.

Required skills

• Steady-state and transient hydraulic analysis with SPS, PIPENET and PIPESIM.
• Process tools such as HYSYS, PVTSIM and Multiflash.
• Familiarity with applicable regulations, codes and standards, and desirable: firewater demand calculations, industrial drainage design, Saudi Aramco standards and NFPA requirements.
