Linux & Container Platform Engineer

About the role

DXC Technology is looking for a Linux & Container Platform Engineer to support business‑critical infrastructure across physical, virtual and hybrid environments. The role combines Linux system administration with container platform operations, emphasizing availability, security, automation and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems on physical and virtual platforms, handling patching, upgrades, performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Use centralized management tools such as Red Hat Satellite or SUSE Manager to ensure consistent configuration and patching.
• Automate routine administration with Ansible, Puppet or similar tools and support virtualization platforms like VMware or KVM.
• Deploy, operate and troubleshoot containerised workloads using Docker or Podman and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Manage Helm deployments, ingress, persistent storage, secrets, certificates and access controls.
• Support container image pipelines, CI/CD integration and environment automation.
• Monitor platform health and performance with Prometheus and Grafana, and perform backup and restore activities.
• Apply operating system and container security controls, support logging, auditing and incident investigation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of infrastructure experience, including 1 year in a Linux or container platform role.
• Hands‑on Linux administration experience covering troubleshooting, patching and performance tuning.
• Hands‑on experience with container technologies and Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
