Material Request Planning Officer

About the role

The Material Request Planning Officer ensures that the right materials are available at the right time and in the right quantity to support production schedules. This role balances supply and demand while minimizing costs associated with excess inventory or shortages.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze production and maintenance schedules to determine material requirements.
• Generate accurate demand forecasts using consumption trends, lead times, and production plans.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and procurement teams to align material plans.
• Adjust plans continuously to reflect operational changes or unexpected demand.
• Coordinate with suppliers to secure timely deliveries and develop backup sourcing strategies.
• Utilize the MRP system to monitor stock, identify shortages, and create procurement proposals.
• Develop contingency plans for material shortages or supply‑chain disruptions.
• Work with cross‑functional departments to resolve issues and maintain production flow.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, or supply‑chain roles.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience with production scheduling.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external coordination.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Access.
• Ability to create presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Hands‑on experience with an MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system.
