Mechanical Estimation Engineer

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed mechanical estimations using advanced software tools to ensure accurate cost projections.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather the information needed for each estimate.
• Prepare reports outlining estimated costs and recommending cost-saving measures.
• Review project specifications and drawings to spot challenges and optimization opportunities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations so estimates comply with relevant codes.
• Support procurement by providing accurate material and labour estimates.
• Present estimation findings in project meetings and help discuss feasibility and budget.
• Help develop estimation templates and tools, and mentor junior estimators.

Required profile

• Strong analytical skills to interpret specifications and build precise cost estimates.
• Excellent communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented approach and ability to handle several projects at once under tight deadlines.
• Problem-solving ability to find cost-saving opportunities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in mechanical estimation software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
