MEP Coordinator

About the role

A management consulting firm in Jeddah is looking for an MEP Coordinator to oversee the mechanical, electrical and plumbing aspects of its projects. The role works closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and suppliers to ensure projects meet high standards of quality and efficiency, with training programs and mentorship available.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with project managers and engineers so that MEP systems are integrated into project designs, using AutoCAD and Revit for modelling and planning.
• Review and analyse MEP drawings and specifications, proposing solutions and ensuring compliance with local codes and industry standards.
• Conduct site visits to monitor MEP installation, check adherence to safety protocols and quality standards, and document progress and challenges.
• Assist in preparing project schedules and budgets, tracking timelines and resource allocation with project management software.
• Facilitate communication between contractors, suppliers and internal teams, and share updates in project meetings.
• Evaluate bids and proposals from subcontractors and support the procurement process.
• Maintain accurate records of project documentation such as change orders, submittals and correspondence.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and their integration in construction projects.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across diverse project teams.
• Ability to analyse technical drawings and specifications critically.
• Project management skills, including scheduling and budget management.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations relevant to MEP installations.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
