Mechanical Inspector – Field Engineer

About the role

AECOM is seeking a detail‑oriented Mechanical Inspector to join its Riyadh team. You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining and optimizing mechanical systems on client sites, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and test mechanical equipment and systems according to technical specifications.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures using analytical methods and specialized tools.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, maintenance logs and documentation for all field activities.
• Conduct equipment inspections and analyse performance data to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers and internal teams to coordinate field activities and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations and company policies on all job sites.
• Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and manage spare‑parts inventory.
• Travel to various project locations as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience as a Field Engineer, Mechanical Technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and systems operation.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnostics and root‑cause analysis.
• Experience with mechanical maintenance, repair and installation procedures.
• Familiarity with technical documentation, blueprints and CAD software.
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in field‑based settings.
