Network Technician

About the role

The Network Technician provides day‑to‑day support for the district’s IT infrastructure, ensuring that hardware, software and network services run smoothly for all end users. This role involves both troubleshooting user issues and maintaining the underlying network cabling across campus and remote sites.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network problems for PCs, Macs, servers and internet connectivity.
• Install, configure and maintain LAN equipment and campus/remote‑site network cabling, including copper, UTP and fiber.
• Log and track support requests using a ticketing system, monitor progress and ensure timely resolution.
• Analyze recurring issues, research fixes and implement long‑term solutions.
• Communicate critical or unresolved issues to management.
• Collaborate with Network Engineers on design, development and implementation of network infrastructure.
• Assist Network Engineers in resolving technical problems to keep end‑user computing operations running smoothly.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in network installation, operation and computer systems maintenance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems (all versions).
• Fluency in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Network troubleshooting and hardware repair.
• Network cabling (copper, UTP, fiber) and LAN equipment configuration.

• Computer systems maintenance.
• Low‑current electrical installations, power generators and UPS systems.
