Offensive Security Intern

About the role

Join Help AG’s Offensive Security Team as an intern and gain hands‑on experience with real‑world cyber‑threat simulations. You will work alongside seasoned security professionals to identify vulnerabilities, support penetration testing activities, and contribute to strengthening customers’ security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT) processes.
• Perform basic vulnerability scans and support ongoing penetration testing engagements.
• Help with reconnaissance, information gathering, and validation of security findings.
• Collaborate with internal teams to discuss remediation strategies.
• Participate in labs, simulations, and internal exercises to develop offensive security skills.
• Complete training on at least three offensive security tools (e.g., Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap) and pursue relevant certifications.
• Prepare reports, proof‑of‑concepts, and knowledge‑sharing documentation.

Required profile

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common network protocols (HTTP/S, DNS, SMB, SSH).
• Experience with Linux command line (Kali, Parrot, or Ubuntu) and basic scripting in Python or Bash.
• Familiarity with offensive security concepts such as reconnaissance, vulnerability scanning, exploitation basics, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Demonstrated self‑driven learning (GitHub projects, write‑ups, CTF participation).
