Optical Technician

About the role

We are seeking an Optical Technician to join our retail team. The role combines customer‑facing sales activities with technical support for optical products, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for every client.

Key responsibilities

• Identify customer needs and recommend suitable frames, lenses, contact lenses, and sunglasses.
• Drive conversion, upselling, cross‑selling and execute promotions to meet individual sales targets.
• Handle customer inquiries, basic complaints and build lasting relationships.
• Read and interpret prescriptions accurately, support fitting, adjustments and product selection.
• Assist opticians with technical requirements, verify prescription, fitting and product specifications.
• Ensure zero‑defect delivery, resolve issues before handover and process transactions through the POS system.
• Support insurance approvals and documentation while complying with company policies.
• Maintain stock accuracy, report shortages or damages, and keep product knowledge up to date.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve store targets and contribute to a positive work environment.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of experience in a related retail or optical environment.
• Bachelor’s degree from a technical institute of optics or a related field.
• Excellent oral and written English and Arabic.
• Strong sales and customer service orientation.
• Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems.
• Familiarity with insurance processing systems.
• Basic understanding of optical and technical processes, including prescription interpretation.
• Attention to detail and quality‑focused mindset.
