Polysomnography Technology Specialist

About the role

The Polysomnography Technology Specialist is responsible for the overall operation and supervision of the technical and administrative functions of the Sleep Laboratory at King Faisal Specialist Hospital. This role ensures high‑quality sleep study services, drives performance improvement, and supports research and clinical initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality assurance and performance improvement programs in line with JCIA standards.
• Participate actively in the hospital’s Performance Improvement activities.
• Review, update, and introduce advanced techniques to enhance Sleep Lab performance.
• Create and maintain internal policies and procedures compliant with hospital and JCIA requirements.
• Set short‑ and long‑term goals for the Sleep Laboratory and monitor progress.
• Recommend and implement information systems to streamline workflow.
• Evaluate staff performance, provide counseling, and recommend disciplinary actions when needed.
• Coordinate with Personnel Services for staffing matters, including job descriptions and performance evaluations.
• Assess employment candidates and make hiring recommendations.
• Develop and deliver training and competency programs, ensuring continuous education.
• Maintain effective supply inventory and manage equipment contracts, service, and maintenance.
• Prepare and manage the laboratory budget and produce periodic administrative reports.

Required profile

• Minimum of 48 months (4 years) experience in sleep laboratory operations.
• BLS certification.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, evaluate, and motivate staff.
• Familiarity with JCIA accreditation standards and hospital performance improvement processes.
