Pool Technician

About the role

The Pool Technician ensures safe, clean, and well‑maintained swimming facilities for guests. Working within the hotel’s engineering team, you will monitor water quality, operate pool equipment, and handle chemicals in compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of swimming pools, kids pools, water features and associated plant rooms.
• Test and record water parameters (pH, free chlorine, combined chlorine, temperature) and adjust chemical dosing to maintain approved limits.
• Operate and maintain circulation pumps, filtration systems, strainers, valves, heat exchangers, UV systems, heaters, chillers and automatic dosing equipment.
• Carry out routine backwashing, filter cleaning, preventive maintenance and minor repairs of pool mechanical components.
• Safely handle, store and label pool chemicals according to SDS/MSDS requirements and use required PPE.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks in the CMMS, respond to work orders, and document all activities and corrective actions.
• Ensure pool systems are ready before operating hours and support guest‑related pool operations.

Required profile

• Experience in pool operation, water quality monitoring and mechanical maintenance.
• Knowledge of chemical safety procedures and ability to work with SDS/MSDS guidelines.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
• Capability to coordinate with engineering supervisors and report unsafe conditions promptly.

Required skills

• Pool water testing (pH, free chlorine, combined chlorine, temperature)
• Chemical dosing and handling (SDS/MSDS compliance)
• Operation and maintenance of pool circulation pumps, filtration systems, strainers, valves, heat exchangers
• Backwashing and filter cleaning
• Preventive maintenance using a CMMS
• Basic mechanical repair of pool equipment
• Knowledge of UV disinfection systems, pool heaters, chillers and automatic dosing systems
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
