Production Lead

About the role

The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production operations of protein products, ensuring schedules are met, quality standards are upheld, and safety protocols are followed. This role coordinates cross‑functional teams to deliver efficient, compliant, and cost‑effective manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily production schedules for processing, packaging, and dispatch.
• Monitor line performance (yields, downtime, throughput) and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate with planning, maintenance, quality, and logistics to maintain smooth end‑to‑end flow.
• Supervise, mentor and coach operators, packers and machine staff; manage shift rosters and pre‑shift briefings.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP and food‑safety standards; support QA inspections and internal audits.
• Enforce OSHA and internal safety policies, conduct safety walks and incident investigations.
• Maintain accurate production records, report OEE, labor efficiency and product loss metrics.
• Lead Lean, 5S and Kaizen initiatives, identify bottlenecks and support automation projects.
• Oversee product costing compliance, BOM unification and strategic benchmarking.

Required profile

• Proven experience in manufacturing or food‑processing environments.
• Strong leadership and team‑development capabilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of HACCP, GMP and occupational safety regulations.
• Analytical mindset with ability to interpret production data and drive continuous improvement.
• Business acumen for cost control and strategic decision‑making.
