Project Engineer Electrical - Design (Saudi Arabia)

About the role

Eram Talent is recruiting an experienced electrical engineer for a project in Saudi Arabia, based on-site in Jeddah. The role covers design reviews, material installation, site supervision and quality inspection of electrical components in major building rectification and upgrade programmes, with a focus on the design, execution, testing and commissioning of complex electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of design packages and provide constructability feedback to the design and engineering team or consultants
• Review and coordinate shop drawings and as-built drawings across trades and disciplines
• Supervise and inspect electrical work and monitor daily project progress
• Carry out QA/QC inspections, identify non-conforming work and issue periodic quality reports
• Answer contractor inspection requests and technical queries, and issue field directives with the project management team
• Verify quantities and work progress, and resolve electrical design issues with contractors and stakeholders
• Support technical decisions, assist in installation, troubleshooting and repair, and lead commissioning, startup and adjustments
• Investigate code violation complaints, follow the approved schedule, document deficiencies with photos and maintain daily project records
• Help develop project charters covering scope, budget and schedule, and work with FM, IT and HSE teams

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering
• At least 5 years of experience verifying designs against construction, QA/QC, material specifications and commissioning electrical systems
• Experience designing electrical systems for industrial or commercial applications
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards and regulations
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills

Required skills

• Electrical design software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN and ETAP
• Electrical design review and commissioning
