Project Engineer

About the role

The Project Engineer supports project execution by managing technical documentation, coordinating engineering deliverables, resolving technical queries and ensuring construction activities align with design and specifications. The workplace is on site and the department is ABICON.

Key responsibilities

• Review and manage engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Coordinate technical queries between site, engineering and the client.
• Track and control document submittals and approvals (transmittals, MDRs).
• Support material take-offs and technical input for procurement.
• Assist in constructability reviews and resolve design and field conflicts.
• Coordinate with QC to ensure technical compliance of installed works.
• Support preparation of method statements and inspection/test plans.
• Liaise with engineering, planning and construction teams on technical matters.
• Track technical punch-list items through to closure.
• Support as-built drawing preparation and final documentation handover.
• Assist the Project Manager with technical reporting and presentations.
• Provide technical support during commissioning and handover.

Required profile

• +5 years of experience in a project or technical engineering role on EPC or industrial construction projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or a related engineering discipline.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem solving, communication, coordination and time management.

Required skills

• Engineering drawing and specification review
• Document control systems
• AutoCAD and other engineering software (as applicable)
• Material take-off and technical procurement support
• Awareness of codes and standards in the relevant discipline
• MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
